A few days ago, a magazine visited Care Action Macao, hoping to have an in-depth understanding of the work situation since the establishment of Care Action Macao, as well as the future development, which was received by Vice President Jacky Chui, Chairman Fong Kor Hong and secretary Albert Lai.
Vice President Jacky Chui said: After 11 years of silent work, the footprint of Care Action Macao has spread to Guizhou, Guangxi, Beijing, Gansu, Guangdong, Hebei, Sichuan, Hunan, and even thousands of miles away in Africa, reflecting the world. We also adhere to the faith of environmental protection and health promote charity, and organize the "Care Action Macao Cup" every year, and through this charity health and health activity, rebuild and expand more than 10 schools in remote and barren areas in China. Through our members' continuous visits to schools and homes in rural and urban areas, we have come to realize that poor families live a hard life, making it even more difficult for them to send their children to senior high school or university, resulting in a tragic cycle of generational poverty. Given the need to nurture the mind in the first place in poverty alleviation, in 2011 we established the "Care Action Macao Education Fund" to extend financial assistance to students until they complete their university courses. Education Fund development
By 2016, more than 300 poor students in Gansu, Guizhou, Anhui, Nanning and Guilin in Guangxi and Meizhou in Guangdong will be supported, and more than 1,000 poor students will be supported by this year.
Chairman Fong Kor Hang also introduced: Ten years ago, Gansu President Ran Shucang helped us to set up the Care Action Macao Orphanage in Huining Mountain District, Gansu Province, which mainly housed orphans, extremely poor and left-behind children, and ended in mid-2013 due to the ban on private orphanages. In the past 11 years, Care Action Macao has participated in the "snow relief" and "cold relief" in China, the "earthquake relief" in Sichuan, and the reconstruction of a new village for the victims of wind disasters in Chongzuo, Guangxi. In addition, a total of 10 large-scale rainwater storage tanks of 50 to 200 cubic meters were built for 10 secondary schools and primary schools in mountainous areas of Gansu Province. A total of 183 rain storage cellars were built for poor rural households in mountainous areas of Gansu Province. With the assistance of President Ran, the construction work is still in progress.
From "Care Action Macao Education Fund" establishment to this year (2017), a total of 100 recipients will graduate from university and 3 graduate students will graduate. I have been sincerely grateful to President Ran Shucang of Gansu Province, Director Li Haibo of Zunyi Intelligence Support Office, Guangxi Cooperation Support Foundation, Guilin Charity Society, President Wu Yu of Sixian Red Cross Society of Anhui Province, and Guangdong Meizhou Youth Volunteers Association for their assistance in contacting students and distributing grants. Step by step, we improve the learning environment for poor students and strive for learning opportunities. We will continue to work with students, hoping that knowledge will give them a chance to escape poverty and change their fate.
