Bond with children

Perhaps it's due to my profession, or maybe it's the karmic connection from my past life with children. Most of my personal experiences are related to children, and they have left an indelible mark on me.

In early July, Miss Chen, a student studying in Sydney University, proposed to participate in a summer teaching program. After discussions, we decided to hold it at the original Le Shan Xing Orphanage in Macau. After more than ten days of cleaning, installing electrical wiring, and equipping daily necessities, the program officially started on August 15th. Four university students were assigned to teach classes every day. They had clear divisions of labor, and they built good relationships with more than twenty children. In addition to classroom discussions on English, psychology, and history, they also engaged in extracurricular activities such as playing soccer, jumping rope, and badminton. It was like a Disney theme park where older siblings and younger siblings played together!

A free lunch was also provided, and one of the children, Sun Hao, who had previously attended Zhongwan Elementary School, jokingly said, "We're having a big communal meal again!" The orphanage was filled with joy, as both the children and the university students enjoyed the delicious food. I was even more delighted and told the children around me, "Being with all of you brings me joy. I feel completely free from any worries or illness as if I've returned to my childhood." Although the scene was far from the large-scale orphanage in Macau in the past, I intended to take a day off on Sunday. However, when I asked for the university students' opinions, they all answered in unison, "No rest!" All the enthusiastic learning activities and joyful events were filled with the spirit of Le Shan Xing's educational assistance. Seeing the students deeply attached to the school, it made me contemplate. After careful observation, to safeguard students' physical and mental health, I combined it with the phenomenon of some parents' concerns about their children's obsession with mobile phones. Taking advantage of the opportunity when we visited the old route of the Red Army's Long March, all the students solemnly pledged by the side of the old route, declaring themselves as students of the Zhubin support teaching point, remembering the teachings of their teachers and parents, and diligently studying cultural knowledge, not disappointing the deep affection of their older brothers and sisters who came to support their education, and contributing to the revitalization of rural areas!

Education is a comprehensive discipline that involves various aspects, especially in transforming various unfavorable factors and guiding students subtly towards the right path, which has greatly changed their behaviors and actions. In order to ensure the future happiness of children in the mountainous areas, I will conduct telephone and on-site follow-ups from time to time to understand the students' learning progress and their behaviors. I hope that the melodious sound of reading will once again reverberate through the mountains of Zhongwan.
