Principal Ran from Gansu recently shared the heartwarming and surprising news that two former students, Yang Zhenxu and He Lijuan, who were sponsored by Care Action Macao, got married and had children. Despite not knowing each other previously and living over 100 kilometers apart, attending different universities with no familial relationship, how did they meet and get married? The mystery was unraveled when Principal Ran asked Zhenxu about it.
Zhenxu said, "Care Action Macao and Principal Ran acted as our matchmakers! Several years ago, Principal Ran briefly established a support group for sponsored students from Care Action Macao. We connected through WeChat in that group, and the gears of fate started turning. At that time, I was in my second year of university, and Lijuan was in her first year. We started chatting because we knew we were both locals and sponsored students, so there was no barrier between us. We had a lot in common and got along well. As we became more familiar with each other, I was assigned to work in Zhenhai, Ningbo. I worked there for two years and wanted to bring Lijuan to work in the south as well. Both our parents were in poor health, and we couldn't be there for them when they needed us. After much discussion, we decided to return to our hometown in Northwest China. I resigned at the end of 2020, and we got married in May 2021. Since then, I have been working in Lanzhou Petrochemical, and my wife works at a nearby primary school training institution. Though we can't be considered wealthy, we have each other and live a happy life together. That's the journey we have walked together. Today, Principal Ran informed us that Care Action Macao and Uncle Lin supported me during my university years, and even my wife Lijuan was also supported by Uncle Lin. What touched us the most was that Lijuan's sister, Lijun, was supported by Uncle Lei during her university years. Care Action Macao has been supporting Lihong, my younger brother, and my wife's sister, who are both studying at university and pursuing postgraduate studies. We are truly grateful for the tremendous kindness and help you have shown to our families, on behalf of both of our families. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts to Care Action Macao, Principal Ran, Uncle Lei, and Uncle Lin for their support over the years."
Upon hearing the news of He Lijuan and Yang Zhenxu's marriage, I felt inexplicably joyful. Our connection with the He family began eight years ago when Principal Ran and I strongly encouraged He Lijun, who intended to quit school and work to take care of her seriously ill father. Lijun decided to continue her university education and now works in Qinghai. Five years ago, when Lijuan graduated, she emailed Vice Chairman Lin and me. Today, hearing that both families are living happily and peacefully, it is heartwarming to see how Care Action Macao supported these two families through their most difficult times and how fate brought them together as relatives.
